Australia’s national Clean Energy Finance Corporation has invested to help a 100MW/200MWh battery storage project reach financial close.

The Australian government-backed Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) has committed AU$125 million (US$92.12 million) to help build grid infrastructure for a 2GW pumped hydro project with 175 hours of storage duration.

Fluence will supply the latest large-scale battery energy storage system set to be deployed in South Australia, which has secured non-subsidised debt financing.
