The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) team at international construction firm Burns & McDonnell has brought online 60MWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) in West Texas.

The company behind what is claimed will be the largest lithium-ion battery recycling facility in North America intends to process as much material as it can from the energy storage system (ESS) industry. 

Fluence has entered a collaboration with solid-state lithium-metal battery startup QuantumScape, with the pair working together to develop stationary energy storage solutions using the new technology.
