A new 200kW/284kWh community battery energy storage system (BESS) has been switched on in Cammeray, a suburb of Sydney, the capital of New South Wales, Australia.
Australian network company Ausgrid has launched a new energy storage-as-a-service (ESaaS) offering alongside Origin Energy and EnergyAustralia whilst launching its ninth community battery energy storage system (BESS) in Bondi, the eastern suburb of Sydney, New South Wales.
Australia is to trial using solar and wind power to produce hydrogen via electrolysis, with the hydrogen then being used for long-term energy storage in the Sydney gas network.
