Developer-operator TransGrid Energy has successfully secured over US$1.4 billion in financing for two battery energy storage (BESS) projects located in Arizona, US, with a combined capacity of 450MW/1,800MWh.

Australian transmission system operator Transgrid has contracted Edify Energy’s 300MWh Riverina and Darlington Point battery energy storage system (BESS) to increase its network capacity in New South Wales by 120MW.
Transgrid, has indicated that 4.8GW of grid-forming BESS will be necessary to stabilise the grid in New South Wales to support renewable energy deployment.
